My Skincare Ritual (Face)
Cleansing Grains |
I know what you're thinking, and yes I clean my face with grains. The grains are a mixture of clay, nuts, oats and herbs made into a powdered facial cleanser. They exfoliate the and cleanse the face providing a much gentler cleanse in comparison to sudsy soaps. You can find the recipe I use here.
Black Soap |
For a deep cleaner, I will wash my face with black soap. I've found I can use this soap more in the summer than in the winter when the air is more drying. Black Soap is actually brown and does not come in a perfectly square shape. I purchase mine here.
Aloe, Rose, Frankincense & Rose Quartz Moisturizing Spray |
Before applying a moisturizer to my face I first spray it with this mixture. This spray helps to lock in moisture as well as reduce anxiety and promote feelings of self-love. In a 2 oz bottle I pour a mixture of Aloe Vera Juice, Rose Water, three drops of Frankincense Essential Oil and one small rose quartz stone.
I love to make my own toner using an herbal infusion of ACV and Rose Water. Great recipes can be found under "Queen of Hungary Water". Lately I've been using the Nourishing Toner from Sistren and Seed and I absolutely love it.
Nourishing Oil |
My face loves this oil as it is perfect for combination skin, I made my own custom blend using Tamanu Oil, Rosehip Oil and Frankincense Oil.
Bentonite Clay |
An old favorite, mix bentonite clay with ACV. Rinse off before it starts to dry.
Turmeric Mask |
For glowing skin add Turmeric Powder to plain yogurt and apply to face. Leave on for 20 minutes and rinse off will cool water.
Honey Mask |
For moisture - apply raw honey to skin. Leave on for 20 - 30 minutes and then rinse with warm water.
