How to use Essential Oils to Boost your Fertility & Balance Hormones

Week 10-31 (1 of 1).jpg

I absolutely love using essential oils. They are a huge part of my life and I use them in some form every day so naturally I use them to help boost my fertility and balance my hormones.

Many women, including myself have experienced hormonal imbalance at some point in their life. Typical symptoms that indicate hormonal imbalance are:

  • PMS

  • Heavy Periods

  • Irregular Cycles

  • Fatigue

  • Insomnia

  • Breast Tenderness

  • Low libido

  • Increased belly fat

  • Hair loss

  • Anxiousness

  • Inability to lose weight

One of the biggest disruptors to our hormones is stress. This stress could come in the form of dietary stress (eating inflammatory causing foods), environmental toxins, emotional stress, lack of sleep, overworking, or under/over exercising.

When your body is under chronic stress, cortisol levels rise which causes drops in estrogen and progesterone, over time this can lead to estrogen dominance, menstrual irregularities, weight gain, and unfortunately infertility.

How to use Essential Oils for Hormonal Balance

Essential Oils a be applied topically, inhaled, diffused, or ingested (which I personally do not recommend unless under guidance of a certified Aromatherapist). Each oil contains properties that help to stimulate hormone production promoting balance physically, emotionally, and mentally.

It’s really important to use quality essential oils if you plan to use them therapeutically. I don’t recommend buying essential oils from the grocery store, and recommend you buy 100% Therapeutic Grade Essential Oils. I use oils from here, here , and here. Many of the cheaper oils found on the market are not pure plant oils and instead are a more diluted version.

In my personal experience the best way to use essential oils for hormonal imbalance is to apply them topically. I typically do this twice daily by applying diluted oil to my pulse points on my inner ankles, neck, and wrist. The inner ankle and wrist points are actually acupressure points associated with the uterus on the ankles, and ovaries on the wrist. If you prefer not to apply the oils topically you can always diffuse them as well.

Oils that are applied topically should always be diluted in a carrier oil.

My favorite oils are:

  • Jojoba

  • Coconut Oil

  • Grapeseed Oil

  • Almond Oil
